Shamoly Hoque has 12 years experience working within the field of mental health and the criminal justice system directly with vulnerable affected individuals. She is currently training to become a chartered Forensic psychologist. She is also a
Trauma informed practice trainer for her organisation. At present to complete her training in forensic psychology,she is working in the third sector, delivering therapeutic intervention to racialised men within the criminal justice system.
Through the application of her education ans skillset she is also involved in activism, providing a psycho social analysis to communal needs. She is also a community organiser, organising events and conversation around structural islamophobia, global politics, psycho social issues and bringing together community to discuss this in a easy to understand manner.
She has applied her psycho-social analysis skill set to organise these events based on community needs analysis. These include 2 knowledge and empowerment workshops on structural Islamophobia and a film screening on Bosnia genocide and the role of the resistance, looking at resilience and resistance from the history of Kashmir and Algeria. She has also organised events through Muslim charities and advocacy groups.
